Our Artists

I attempt to photograph fictitious scenarios, with very few elements, without geogra- phy or identity nor time, what for me is the defeat of humanity as a race. A limbo where bodies float without meaning in numberless rooms, hopeless at times, unable to love, and angry, fragile and tense at others. With coldness and distance, I try to photograph the silence, that void which is the only means of escape from this condition, but also the void as a mirror, like a gift to the viewers that, when confronted with tension and ambiguity, receive an invitation to look within themselves.

All of his pieces are hand painted as he deals with cracks in his retinas partially blinding his vision. His artworks reinterpret pop art using washes of colour and detailed intricate line work/ imagery. These create the compositions that reveal the layers of messaging and content we are exposed to everyday. Through this process he attempts to reveal a manufactured reality.

Her art it’s a fusion of passion and personal experiences on a diverse range of influences, working around the world as a model, actress, in gastronomy and pin-up style. In her artworks she complements these influences utilizing newspapers and magazines from the 1800’s mixing cultures from different ages such as pop art, baroque surrealism and now and for the first time abstract art.

Urban~Tropical~Cosmic! Peggie “Batia” Lowenberg is an artist-activator who delivers an upward arc of joyful hope in the current cultural landscape – a salvo of raucous celebration bursting forth with color and life in all their messy splendor.

Who can really make use of his free will? For long centuries, luck, the force of unforeseeable circumstances, is a punishment for those who lose themselves in their ambitions. Cruelty and humility in equal doses: no one is safe, not even the universe, from the whims of chance.

Her work is centered around mankind’s relationship to nature. She has a BA from Bard College (2001) and a BFA (2010) from the San Francisco Art Institute.. Christin was invited to perform her conceptual work Disposable Ethic during the 2015 Havana Biennial in Cuba. She has exhibited her work in galleries in south Florida, New York City, Texas, Colorado, New Orleans, Havana, CUBA and Art Basel including Cheryl Hazan Gallery, Fabrica de Arte, Cancio Contemporary, Bakehouse Art Complex, & Gallery, Whitespace Collection, Placeholder and BaCA.

Daniel Velazquez's HILL series seeks to confront the fear of the unknown and uncontrollable in life. He invites introspection and the urge to explore the depths of the human soul.

Things, in my paintings as in life, are always in the process of becoming: the edge of things about to be, flux, impermanence, thawing, growth, and the change of the seasons. Spring was a most joyous time of year after a long white winter with low gray clouds and little sun in my hometown of Detroit. This touches on the Buddhist insistence on impermanence and how this resonates with me.

As an artist I try to capture in my pieces the secret of the moment of working, I feel the need that the action of working, is revealed in the work and that become part of it I am interested in the magic that the piece of art acquires as it become independent from the artist.

All photos are taken on trips and are digitally developed, altering the shadows, lights, proportions and textures of each image to reveal the unique nature of the landscapes. That nature is not necessarily the one we see, but it is the one we feel, that we have known and that is familiar to us. We have all been there, we have felt the cold wind, the hot air, the tropical humidity. It is nature and its beautiful simplicity.
